Mon children, from Burma, are playing with their groups in the street all day long everyday. Or they have to take care of their younger brother/sister while their parents are at work. Their parents unable to support them to attend school. Some of them have to work hard to help family.

Those are pictures from Mon state. Mon kids are working on the building a new bridge on the main highway. They are carrying a load of cement.They are around 9-12 years old.

In Burma Today, although the military regime claims that it has achieved unity with the ethnic nationalities, the truth is that our ethnic nationalities are suffering greatly from repression of all kinds  
e.g. In the Mon State, the teaching of Mon language in schools has been prohibited.
