Burma's Secret War

Journalist Evan Williams, who is banned from entering Burma, goes undercover to investigate the mass ethnic cleansing, forced labour and vicious clamping down of political opposition which characterise the dictatorship.

Using chemical weapons against people
In 2005 the Burmese army continued to use chemical weapons against it's own people - this Channel Four news piece details one incident and interviews a French doctor who examined the injured men.

The Burmese army often accuses local Mons people as rebel sympathizers, killings, rapes, forced labours, and lands confiscating by the army are widespread in the areas.
After land confiscation, the Mon farmers in the surrounding areas greatly suffered as below;

  1. Suddenly being deprived of employment
  2. Deterioration in social life
  3. Population Displacement and Flux of Refugees
  4. Migrating into Thailand
